Fall

South American Trilogy - Uruguay / Salta, Argentina / Mendoza, Argentina

Wines from South America’s two major regions of Argentina and Chile need no introduction. Their success has made it easier for other neighboring regions to be noticed. Foremost among these is Uruguay. Argentina has its Malbec; Chile has Carmenere and Uruguay’s claim to fame is Tannat. In 2011, Vin has scheduled 3 distinct tours to South America and you can elect to do one, two or all three.

Optional Pre-Tour Extension to Uruguay

Thursday March 31- Monday April 4
Price $1,999
single supplement. $240

Montevideo is a short distance from Buenos Aires and is well known to Argentinians, many of whom have a second home in Uruguay. It will be our home for 4 nights as we explore the dynamic wine region of Cannelones. Uruguayan wineries don’t receive much enotourism so we are sure to get a special welcome.

Uruguay will ultimately take its place alongside Argentina and Chile, but right now it’s off the beaten path so you can be among the first to become familiar with its wines, food and culture.

Highlights

• 4 nights Montevideo

• VIP visits to key wineries in Canelones, Uruguay's Napa Valley

• 7 meals including 3 gourmet dinners or lunch

• City tour of Montevideo

• Ferry ride to Buenos Aires on April 4 for the start of the Argentine tour

• All transfers
