You spoke, we listened: based on frequent requests to bring our style of touring to New Zealand and Australia, we are proud to announce two comprehensive tours at Harvest Time down under.

This is one huge country, about the same size as the continental USA. The name literally comes from Latin: Terra Australis, Southern Land and although independent, maintains a close relationship with Great Britain. Wine making history dates back to the late 1700s when European settlers arrived, planting vineyards in and around Sydney. As the settlers spread out through the country, so did the wine regions. WWII brought an even greater influx of mostly European settlers so Australia has a rich history of winemaking with European roots. By the mid 1990s, Australian wines were recognized and appreciated throughout the world.

Although it is the smallest continent, it has a wide range of climates and a wide range of wine styles. Shiraz (syrah) has become the signature grape of Australia. Most growing regions did not experience phylloxera so the vinifera grapes can grow without hybrid grafting.

There are 7 wine states:
New South Wales, which includes Hunter Valley; Northern Territory; Queensland; South Australia; Victoria; Western Australia; Tasmania. Of these the most prominent and widely recognized is South Australia, famous for its Rhone-style blends from McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, Coonawarra, Padthaway ,Barossa, Eden Valley and Clare.
