We had another trifecta today: two great winery visits, first to Haut Bailly Pessac Léognan, 98 points from Parker and Chateau Raymond Lafond Sauternes 94 points Parker; a visit to a medieval castle and a wonderful simple lunch in a restaurant with all locals- except us. Our menu: salad of asparagus and ecrevisses; filet of goose grilled before our eyes on a 19th century fireplace; tomme de brebis cheese and tarte tatin aux poires, with sauternes, red and white graves.
