A Wine Lover’s Homework

By January 26, 2013Wines

Maybe a genius is born with everything he or she needs to know. But for most humans, it’s experiential that counts: the more experiences in a particular endeavor, the better you become.

This past week is a case in point: Monday I was at the Marriott Marquis for the Union des Grands Crus Bordeaux tasting featuring dozens and dozens of top Bordeaux wineries, with the winemakers.

Wednesday it was the winemaker of San Pedro of Chile in New York; Thursday Wines of Portugal luncheon and tasting of the Top 50 Portuguese wines; Saturday Pinot Noir Day in NY with West Coast Pinot Noir producers; Monday back to NY again for Vinitaly session with 2 seminars and a selected tasting of Italian wines.

The scary thing is even with all this activity, I still learn something at every event I attend. It’s also exciting because…you never stop learning!
