I’m exhausted but wanted to get a short entry about today’s wonderful experiences in this beautiful country. We started by visiting a 6th century church and then went to the Alaverdi monastery where we had a private tasting with one of the monks. We then had lunch at Twins Wine Cellar where we also learned to make traditional Georgian bread and kinkali, huge cavetelli-like pasta. Our day ended in Signagi, the most charming town we’ve seen in Georgia. We are just 40 km from the border with Azerbaijan, staying in a 5 star hotel. We just had a tasting at Pheasants’ Tears winery owned by a 36 year old American, John Wurdeman. More tomorrow with wonderful photos added to our website but got to get to bed!
