Maybe I am too harsh. After all, going to Epcot is definitely one of the fun things to do in life. But to go there specifically for their wine festival, my suggestion is to not waste your time and money- big bucks too since it costs $100/day to get in to Epcot.
Having been to many of the big wine festivals including Boston and South Beach, I had a preconceived image of what to expect: a dedicated area with lots of wines and knowledgeable people pouring them. You won’t get any of this at Epcot, unless you sign up for, and pay- for the seminars and food pairings.
Here’s how you get your wines at Epcot: you go from kiosk to kiosk and wait in line- sometimes as long as 30 minutes!- for a small pour and $5/9 charge, each. And the wines are mediocre to fair.
This is the 20th year of the Epcot Wine Festival so they must be doing something right, I guess. They do attract important wine personalities but you have to be fortunate to be there at the same time.
In summation, if you have the $$$$ to spend, spend it on the Wine Spectator tastings, or SOBE or Boston. Those are legitimate wine festivals.
