Top 5 Wines and Wineries of Provence and Rhone

We spent 10 glorious days in Provence and the Rhone Valley last October. They make a ton of wine in that area and there are lots of wineries so our task is to pick among the best to visit.  Our blogs from that tour do a better job of describing our visits in more detail so I encourage you to read them.

Provence is usually associated with rosé wines, but we discovered many outstanding reds and whites during the tour. In fact the #1 wine was a white wine.

If you like meaty reds, then you’ll love the mourvèdre of Bandol and the grenache/syrah blends of the Rhone. And the good news is that these wines, with the exception of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, are reasonably priced. But here I present the top 5 wines and wineries as selected by our tour participants.

  4. Domaine Tempier La Tourtine 2013 Single Vineyard
