Whenever we go on a tour, I bring a special case designed to transport wines- empty. As we visit different wineries, I select 12 wines to bring back and share with 12 wine lovers.
Last week our tasting featured wines from Corsica- with a couple from Provence, which we brought back from our October 2016 tours.

As I put the tasting sheet together, it dawned on me that there wasn’t a single white in the lineup. You would think the cuisine on an island would be predominantly fish but Corsicans lived inland, on the hills, out of harm’s way of pirates. So the focus is on meat- and red wines to accompany meat.
Conclusion: Corsica is a red wine lovers paradise. Even the two rosés we tasted were delicious.

12 lucky wine lovers

Here is the lineup and although the chances of finding any of these wines is remote, you can expect to find more Corsican wines exported in the future.
