Post Sicily Tour: Time for Family

I couldn’t come all the way to Italy without visiting some of my relatives. Both my mother and father’s families came from Italy, my maternal side from the Marche and my paternal side from Campania.

So when I landed in Rome from Catania, I rented a car , headed South to Campania and spent one day in Buccino visiting Lydia and Anna Maria, one day in Salerno visiting Antoinetta and Elio and their extended family, and one night in Rome, visiting my cousin Vito, his wife Giusy and Angelo and Theresa Imbrenda, who published the periodical, La Voce di Buccino, the town of my paternal grandparents.

I also got in some R&R, swimming in the Mediterranean, in mid-October, and some fabulous home cooked meals, including fried squash flowers and exquisite pasta.

Arrivederci Italia!
