Wine Tour to Portugal -  Douro, Porto, Lisbon

Apr 7 - Apr 13, 2019

7 Days in Wine Lover Paradise —

Portugal is a wine lover’s paradise, especially if you love red wines. And it’s probably the least visited European wine region which means you may be the first person on your block to go there.

Most famous for Port, a fortified wine, there have been monumental improvements in the quality of red wines, especially in the Douro and Alentejo areas. Our visits will emphasize wines from these areas as well as several others such as Dão.

Our tour ends in Lisbon, Portugal’s capital and when we leave on April 13, you will return home with a much better appreciation of Portuguese wines because of your visits to these wine areas.

Or you may decide to continue with the Wine Lovers tour to the romantic idyllic island of Madeira.

  • 6 night / 7 day with stays in Porto, Evora and Lisbon
  • Breakfast daily plus 6 gourmet lunches or dinners
  • Sightseeing and activities
  • VIP winery visits and tastings
  • Airport transfers

A Bucket list Worthy Island — Closer to Africa than mainland Portugal, Madeira has earned a worldwide reputation for its beauty and its wine.

Madeira, like Sherry, has dry, semi-dry and sweet versions and you’ll have the opportunity to taste the best.

Madeira has so much more to offer than wine with its breathtaking vistas, wonderful cuisine and let’s not omit the famous ‘toboggan’ rides.

This is a wonderful and memorable way to end your visit to the Iberian peninsula.

  • 4 nights / 5 days in Funchal with spectacular water views
  • Breakfast plus lunch or dinner
  • VIP winery visits and tastings
  • Sightseeing and other activities mixed in
  • Airport transfers

Greek Wine Odyssey I:

Northern Greece

May 19 - May 27, 2019

Greece is earning its way as a top wine destination. According to Ray Isle of Food & Wine Magazine, “Greek wines may be the most underrated on the planet.” We tend to agree. In fact, there are so many wineries worthy of visits that we had to create a 3-part tour of Greece: Northern, Southern and Islands

Our focus on this tour will be on the very best that Northern Greece has to offer, starting in Thessaloniki. This area has many of the cutting edge wineries as well as fabulous World Heritage sites such as the Roman Agora.

You’ll then stay in Kalambaka, Larissa and the breathtaking Meteora visiting some of the best wineries along the way.

At the end you may wish to our other 2 Greek tours which follow: Central/Southern (GR306) and the Islands (GR307) and save an additional $100 with our Multi-tour Incentive.

  • 9 days / 8 nights with stays in Thessaloniki, Kalambaka, Meteora, Larissa
  • VIP winery visits & sightseeing (Meteora, Roman Agora, etc)

Everyone associates the Acropolis and other ruins with Greece so we know about the cultural dimensions of a visit. But when it comes to wine, there are 7 wine regions, 28 appellations and more than 200 grape varieties spread across Greece, making expert planning and guidance a benefit.

Starting in Athens on May 27, you’ll visit many of Attica’s top wineries as well as cultural sites such as the world famous Parthenon or Athens Daytrips: Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion.

You’ll then stay in the charming seaport town of Nafplion, our base for the next 4 days as you explore the surrounding wines, food and history of the Peloponnese. Intermixed with winery visits, you’ll also visit the ancient sites of Corinth and Epidavros.

This is a cultural and wine experience of a lifetime.
